FULFILLING YOUR ASSIGNMENT

Jeremiah 29:10, "10-11 This is God’s Word on the subject: “As soon as Babylon’s seventy years are up and not a day before, I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. 12 “When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen. 13-14 “When you come looking for me, you’ll find me. “Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.” God’s Decree. “I’ll turn things around for you. Psalm 40:4, "Blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God] is the man who makes the Lord his trust,

And does not regard the proud nor those who lapse into lies.

5 Many, O Lord my God, are the wonderful works which You have done, And Your thoughts toward us; There is none to compare with You. If I would declare and speak of your wonders, They would be too many to count. 6 Sacrifice and meal offering You do not desire, nor do You delight in them.

You have opened my ears and given me the capacity to hear [and obey Your word]; Burnt offerings and sin offerings You do not require.7 Then I said, “Behold, I come [to the throne];

In the scroll of the book, it is written of me. 8 “I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your law is within my heart.”

  1. I believe God has a wonderful plan or assignment for his children's lives that will put them in the right place at the right time with the right group of people to fulfill his purpose
  2. If Satan and the desires of your fallen nature can keep you blinded and distracted out of focused concerning God's plan and assignment for your life (he will bring pain, failure, and grief to the heart of God)
  3. Satan uses many devices to keep us outside of the will and purpose plan and assignment from God for our lives
  4. HOW DO WE DEFINE AN ASSIGNMENT FROM GOD?
  5. God has given everyone an assignment! An assignment is a mission or position to which a person is assigned. We each have a position in the Body of Christ and a distinct mission to fulfill… and God has perfectly equipped us to succeed in His assignment
  6. This means that your nationality, your race, sex, and even where you were born were decided by God. You are geographically assigned. This means there is a place, a city, a location where God wants you. You are specifically assigned. You are not wired to do just anything but some things well
  7. How do we really know when a proposed assignment is something God is ordering or something else? How do we recognize a God-given assignment? Keep in mind that some might even challenge the notion that God truly has assignments for us that we must discover and fulfill.
  • Ephesians 2:10, "10 For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].
  • Hebrews 12: 1, "12 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of [a]witnesses [who by faith have testified to the truth of God’s absolute faithfulness], stripping off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles us, let us run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us, 2 [looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity], who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, [b]disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, His authority, and the completion of His work].
  • Here are eight facts out of 31 to better understand your assignment from the book “The Assignment” By Mike Murdock (the example that Jesus left for us showed his posture in fulfilling this assignment from God. Until we can say like Jesus it is not what I want Lord but what you want for me)
  1. EVERYTHING GOD CREATED WAS CREATED TO SOLVE A PROBLEM (Jeremiah 1:7, 8; I Corinthians 7:20; Genesis 2:18, 21 – 23; Psalm 127:3; 128:3, 4; revelations 4:11)
  2. YOUR ASSIGNMENT WILL ACQUIRE YOUR TOTAL FOCUS (Deuteronomy 13:6 – 10; Matthew 5:29 – 30; Matthew 6:33;)
  3. YOUR ASSIGNMENT WILL REQUIRE SEASONS OF PREPARATION (acts 7:22, 23 – 31; Galatians 4:4, 5; acts 23:6; Job 23:10)
  4. YOUR ASSIGNMENT IS GEOGRAPHICAL (John 4:4; your success is always linked to the place of your assignment)
  5. NEVER STAY WHERE YOU HAVE NOT BEEN ASSIGNED (Matthew 10:14-there is a difference between pouring your life out at the specific place where God assigned you and where you assign yourself)
  6. THE COMPLETION OF YOUR ASSIGNMENT IS YOUR ENEMIES GREATEST FEAR
  7. YOUR ASSIGNMENT MAY REQUIRE UNUSUAL AND UNWAVERING TRUST IN A MAN OR WOMAN OF GOD
  • Your financial breakthrough may depend on your willingness to believe a man or woman of God. (The widow of Zarephath)
  • Sometimes instruction from your man or woman of God will rarely be logical it could be to stir your faith from the pit of logic to the palace of faith "Elijah told her to fear not go and do"
  • Something supernatural can happen when you decide to believe a man or woman of God Jonah 3:10
  • Sometimes success will depend on your ability to recognize a man or woman of God when you're in their presence.
  • When you know someone is truly a man or woman of God be swift to embrace their instruction
  1. YOUR ASSIGNMENT WILL SUCCEED BECAUSE OF SOMETHING GOD HAS CHOSEN TO ANOINT IN YOUR LIFE (something you already have in your hand will defeat any plan of the enemy)
